In the case of an explosion, the EXKOP^® controllers receive a trigger signal (e.g. from the signalling unit of the Q-Rohr^®, an explosion vent, from a pressure sensor or IR-Flame detecor) and activate the connected isolation systems which prevents an explosion from propagating.

IR Flame Detector

The IR Flame Detector is an infrared sensor that is used for immediate detection of explosion flames and thus, together with the EXKOP^® Express control system, for explosion isolation of systems in order to prevent the propagation of an explosion to other parts of the plant.
